Stephanie Captein

Stephanie works as the Agriculture Program Coordinator with Langley Environmental Partners Society (LEPS) where she coordinates a local food education project, offering school and public workshops on vegetable growing and composting, coordinates local community gardens, provides support to schools and community groups related to urban agriculture, and manages a community gleaning project.
Stephanie obtained her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences from the University of Guelph in 2009, majoring in Ecology with an emphasis in Water Resources. Stephanie is a Biologist in Training through the BC College of Applied Biology, an Articling Agrologist with the BC Institute of Agrologists, and a certified Bee Master with the Ministry of Agriculture.

 

Stephanie currently lives on a second generation, family-owned and operated farm with her husband which has given her a unique perspective of the challenges, pressures and successes experienced by local agriculture. She is excited to contribute to the Langley Community Farmer’s Market as a member of the board of directors.
